Manitoba Real Estate Association Module 3 Practice Test

Domain extensions signal who runs a site, and the extension that clearly marks government sites is .gov. This top-level domain is restricted to government entities, so it’s the most direct indicator that the site is an official government resource. In contrast, .com is for commercial businesses, .net originated for networks, and .org for organizations, none of which imply government authority. Keep in mind that different countries may have their own government-specific domains (for example, some federal sites use .gc.ca in Canada), but among the common options, .gov best identifies a government site.
